After the looooooong and difficult “fight” with our streaming aggregator (no names here) we were finally able to release our first single DEPENDING ON YOU. You can find the entire tracklist here.
And, as you can take from the title, there were some complications.
Our single contains a cover version of Bjork, which we already have played live in one occasion, being the song “ARMY OF ME”, taken from her album “POST”. Unfortunately the aggregator didn´t accept the licence we obtained to release this cover song, blocking the entire release!!! of the Maxi single #1.
This lead to some unexpected and not anticipated outcomes:
– We weren´t able to finish the video on time, as we had to find out quickly the motive of the blocking. Of course, we never received an official explanation.
– As a quick solution we were forced to release Maxi single #2 first, and eliminate ARMY OF ME from the planned release of Maxi single #1, to get the released finally authorized.
– This caused that the second single came out before the first and simply ruined the complete release strategy for this single. For that reason, at the streaming platforms the Maxi single #1 only contains 3 songs/versions, while Maxi single #2 contains all four planned tracks.
The results:
– You will currently not find ARMY OF ME on any streaming platform. Too bad, because we are very proud
of our interpretation.
– We are looking for another streaming aggregator, which allows us to release cover versions…
because there are more planned.
– We will manage this release as a PARCIAL RELEASE, which will be completed – at least –
– – with CDs at BANDCAMP with ALL TRACKS
– – Vinyl discs on ELASTICSTAGE with ALL TRACKS.
Catalogue numbers will NOT CHANGE, also the tracks on the discs will remain the same versions, so YOU will not miss anything.
